This is what your kitchen looks like if you have mice in your cupboards. Or at least it's what it looks like when you finally get around to cleaning them out.
We have had mice off and on for a while now. First I would find the occasional little black terd in a dish. Then we'd here them scurrying around in the walls and duct work while we were laying in bed. Talk about gross. It was kind of humorous though watching Virgil sneak around the house in the middle of the night with a broom trying to catch one. After a while it wasn't funny anymore. They kept springing the traps and taking the bait. When they started nibbling my tupperware and hot pads, Virgil thought they must be building a nest. I could smell them every time I opened the cupboards. If anything will take away your desire to cook that smell will do it. That was the last straw. It was time for some serious action. Virgil lined the traps the whole way across the inside of the cupboard so there was no way around. In no time we had Mama Mouse, Daddy Mouse and Mr. Mole. Now Virgil just finished putting in a new floor so they hopefully can't get back in. I believe we are ready to settle in for winter in a single family home once again.

I can feel for you literally and figuratively. We have had so many mice lately in the most inconvenient places, like Shellys clothes drawer. So i went and bought 12 sticky traps and set them all over the place. This morning at 4:00 am I heard one trying to get out of the trap i set so I got up and went in the pantry to investigate and sure enough there he was. So i picked up the sticky trap very carefully with both hands but had my finger to close to its mouth because he bit me so hard my finger bled and I screamed bloody murder mostly out of shock. Woke up most of the household in the process. Either way I had no mercy on that mouse, I took it out on the patio and smashed its head with a piece of firewood and felt no remorse. Philip
There are no mice in Oregon! ...i think.
But how would you like to have your child step on a scorpion in your very own livingroom?!
Or a month later find one in our shoe closet. That's an insecure feeling......It proved useful, tho. Dave caught it carefully cuz Meg needed it for a science experiment. Not every kid gets to watch a scorpion die in a clear container, laced with nail polish remover.
So the next time you hear a mouse in the house, remember, they are cute furry little things that could even be held. Now the Bible does speak of scorpions and the pictures are never pretty. Probably why i was so angry the first time i ever saw one and so creeped out when they were crawling on the house while i was trying to relax on the patio with Frieda. In Kings and Chronicles Rehoboam tells the people: "My father scourged you with whips; i will scourge you with scorpions"
Luke talks about snakes and scorpions. In the same sentence.
Revelations says...."they had tails like scorpions, and in their tails had power to torment people for 5 months"! Nothing about mice.
